(BEDFORD) - Jon Sargent was the only one that placed a bid on the Bedford Fire Department’s 1989 Ford KME Fire Engine.
The Bedford Board of Works accepted the bid of $3,500.
The department sold the fire engine because it needed major repairs and because they purchased a new combination pumper fire engine.
The board also approved the only bid for a 2006 Royal Trailer. Ken Teague's bid was for $2,751.
In other business the Board of Works:
* Approved the request for a minor subdivision for H&H Medical at 3251 Shawnee Drive. Plan Director Dan Kirk presented the board with potential plans and says t building site is next to Dr. Ovais Raza's medical office.
* Established a passenger loading zone in front of a home in the 1300 block of K Street.
Pam Colglazier requested the loading zone because she transports her parents, who both suffer from health issues, to and from doctor visit.
Colglazier says she can never find a place in front of the home to park and safely load her parents into the vehicle, because residents and visitors at the Hauck House park in front to the home.
