(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police were called to the CVS pharmacy early Sunday morning after a 16-year-old girl reported she was raped.
She told police three white males in a blue car pulled up next to her in the parking lot near Winslow Road and one of the males pulled her into the car.
She then told police they drove out of the lot and she didn't know where she was and that is when they raped her.
However Bloomington Police Sgt. Lucas Tate says the girl lied to police to cover up the theft of an undisclosed amount of alcohol from CVS.
Tate says the girl reported the rape after she returned home and her family noticed she was acting strange. Tate says a blue car was spotted on the pharmacy's security camera footage, but the girl got into the car, with her acquaintances willfully.
However, the department is still investigating if a sexual assault occurred.
The girl was referred to juvenile probation for reporting false information to police.
