(ELLETTSVILLE) -24-year-old Blane Allen Long, of Ellettsville, was arrested in connection with the robbery at the Circle K convenience store on West Temperance Street on Sunday.
He was booked into the Monroe County jail at 8:10 p.m. Thursday on the charges of armed robbery, a Class B felony; pointing a firearm at another person, a Class D felony; and possession of a firearm without a permit, a Class A misdemeanor.
According to a press release by the Ellettsville Police Department, after the release of surveillance photos to media, police received several calls from the public who said the person in the photos were Long.
Police went to Long's home, but could not find him. But there were told he was in the area. Police contacted family members and Long's girlfriend, in an attempt to get Long to turn himself in. When those attempts failed, the courts issued a warrant for his arrest.
Officers with the Ellettsville Police Department and the Indiana State Police worked together throughout the day Thursday to try to find Long. At around 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Police using cell phone triangulation found Long at a lake in Washington County just south of Salem.
An Indiana State trooper stopped Long's 2007 silver Dodge Ram, near Salem. He was taken to the Ellettsville Police Department and his vehicle was seized as evidence.
Long also faces additional charges in Washington County as a result of the traffic stop by the Indiana State Police.
