(HURON) - A fire raged through a double wide home in Huron early this morning destroying the home of Jeremiah Kern.
According to Huron Volunteer Fire Chief Mark Jones the department was notified about the blaze around 9:48 p.m. Monday at 85 Huron-Pike Road.
Twenty-two firefighters from Huron and Marion Township Volunteer Fire Departments responded. Firefighters were on the scene until after 2 a.m. this morning.
Kern told firefighters he was visiting his neighbor when the blaze started.
Jones says the state fire marshal will investigate the cause of the fire, but he believes it started in the southeast corner of the home in the utility room.
