(BEDFORD) - Through an arrangement with the Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service, the Lawrence County Extension Office will reap the benefits of having an intern on staff for the summer.
Lesley Greenwell will work through the end of July, taking her a few days past the Lawrence County 4-H Fair.
Greenwell aspires to be an extension educator in Indiana and wants to learn all she can about extension programming. Greenwell's primary interest is in 4-H and youth development. She's hoping to land a job in an extension office after spending the next two years at Indiana University completing a master's degree in public affairs with a concentration in non-profit management.
That career path, she said, will qualify her for the kind of work she wants to pursue. Dave Redman, an educator with the Lawrence County Extension Service says he is grateful to have another person from the extension office to help oversee the fair's activities.
