(BEDFORD) - A Heltonville man was injured after he flipped his vehicle early Saturday morning.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 23-year-old Tyler Stancombe told police he had drank a few beers before he crashed his 2010 Chevrolet Camaro on North Jackson Street at 3:38 a.m.
Police say Stancombe was traveling north on GM Drive and was approaching North Jackson Street when he reached for his cell phone. When he looked up he saw the utility pole and swerved the Camaro to miss hitting it.
The car went off the left side of the road, traveled more than 228 feet before it hit an embankment, went airborne for 96 feet and landed, flipping end over end - twice, before landing on its top.
Police say Stancombe did leave the scene.
Police says he suffered minor bleeding on his head.
