(MITCHELL) - Hoosier Uplands will host a 12-week walking program specifically for women. “Women Out Walking” is scheduled for May 14-Aug. 5 and encourages women to lead healthier lifestyles by becoming more physically active.
Participants will receive a free pedometer and an information packet about healthy lifestyles. The program will include weekly organized group walks and prizes. Walkers also will be eligible for a prize drawing at the end of the challenge for meeting step goal, and the individual with the highest step total will be eligible for a grand prize.
Registration will be at the Mitchell Hoosier Uplands office on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 500 W. Main St., and at the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce conference room Thursday from 2-5 p.m. Participants also may register during the first group walk Thursday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Parkview track.
