(MITCHELL) - Mitchell Junior High School principal Darin Farris is resigning effective June 30th.
He is becoming the new principal at Eastern High School in Pekin in Washington County.
Farris says the move is for his family, so he can be closer to home.
Farris lives in Washington County and the new position will make for a shorter commute. Farris' two children attend elementary school there.
Farris served as a teacher and coach in the West Washington school system before coming to MJHS as an assistant principal in 2008. He became principal in 2009.
