(BEDFORD) - The North Lawrence High School junior varsity baseball players were some of the 50 people who pitched in for the United Way of South Central Indiana Day of Caring in Bedford.
Volunteers tackled jobs at agencies such as the Thornton Memorial Boys Club, Limestone Girls Club, Red Cross, Lawrence Interfaith Endeavor, Salvation Army and Senior Centers.
The volunteers reported to the Girls Club for check-in and breakfast at 8 a.m. Saturday, work began at 8:30 a.m. and finish at noon.
Lorri Hamer, United Way Executive Director, said Saturday's volunteers represented a mix of rookies and veterans.
