(BEDFORD) - According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, no one was injured this morning when a vehicle attempted to pass a school bus at US 50 and Stove Road.
According to Craig, bus driver 46-year-old Lisa Jean, of Norman was traveling south on Stove Road and had stopped to back up in her usual turnaround.
That is when a Buick driven by 17-year-old Branden Prince, of Bedford, was behind the bus and thought it was safe to go around the bus. While passing the bus, his car hit the front bumper of the 1993 GMC school bus owned by Jean.
Craig says there were six student on the bus when it was hit and no one was injured.
Prince told police the bus had on its flashers on when he attempted to pass the bus.
Craig says another bus came to the scene and transported the students to school.
