(BEDFORD) - North Lawrence Community School board members Thursday approved a host of personnel moves, including two that involve principals.
Mike Lewis at the Times-Mail reports that Mark Vice, principal at Parkview Intermediate School, will move into a new position for a NLCS director of learning, instruction and curriculum assessment. The board created the new position during its April meeting. The appointment is effective July 1.
That means new faces will soon be behind both principals' desks at Parkview. Stephen Ray, principal at Parkview Primary School, will retire at the end of this school year. The board accepted notice of Ray's retirement in March.
Also, Laura Charles, principal at Stalker Elementary School, will move into the principal's office at Springville Elementary School effective July 1. Robert Stipp, the current Springville principal, will retire at the end of this school year. The board accepted notice of Stipp's retirement in April.
In another department, Stacie Green, the corporation's food service secretary, will become NLCS food service director effective July 1. She will replace the retiring Judy Bailey. The board accepted notice of Bailey's retirement in April.
