Pesky Raccoon Causes Washington Man Problems

Last updated on Tuesday, May 8, 2012

(WASHINGTON) - A Washington man called police several times over the weekend in reference to his pet raccoon.

Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. William Bowling reported his pet had bit him several times in the face and was running loose in the yard.

A few minutes later he called again and reported the animal was loose in his house. Animal control went to the home, but Bowling would not let them take the raccoon.

A little after midnight, Bowling called police again saying the raccoon was in his bedroom and would not let him in. Again animal control responded but Bowling would not let them take the animal away.

At 10:46-am on Sunday morning, Bowling called police and said his landlord wanted the raccoon gone, however Bowling told animal control he wanted the raccoon held until he could contact someone about a raccoon sanctuary. Animal control took the raccoon and set it free in the West Fork White River Bottoms.
