(SALEM) - The Youth First KEYS program is looking for a few good teens to fill internship positions with local businesses.
A few of the internships are paid.
Through the K.E.Y.S. Program, high school age youth in Washington County will be able to pursue opportunities to develop their leadership skills, strengthen their resume and connect with valuable internship and job shadowing experiences.
The K.E.Y.S. program will be offering a series of three leadership workshops over the course of the summer. Students can participate in one or all three depending on their availability.
The cost of each workshop is $25 per session.
Youth First is currently looking to match students with three paid internships, five job shadowing opportunities and one scholarship.
Any student who is chosen for an internship or job shadowing experience will automatically be enrolled in the series of leadership workshops thanks to the sponsorship of the business they will be matched with.
There are also scholarships available for students who want to participate in leadership workshops but are not available for an internships or job shadowing.
The first workshop will be on June 7 from 9am to 4pm at the Community Learning Center.
A full description of all three workshops or to learn more about the positions available, visit www.youthfirstwc.org. To register for a workshop, apply for an internship/shadowing experience or get your business involved in supporting the program, contact Beth Armstrong at beth@wcfymca.org or 883-5565.
First K.E.Y.S. workshop will be June 7th from 9am to 4pm. Deadline to register is Friday.
