(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County’s Salvation Army is observing national Salvation Army Week with a community yard sale and hot dog giveaway Saturday.
The yard sale is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will have a variety of items. Capt. Donna Rose said most clothing items will be marked at 25 cents. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., visitors can have a free hot dog and a cold drink from the canteen.
All activities will take place at the 17th and K street headquarters.
Proceeds from the sale will be used for direct services to the community.
"Federal funding to assist with such needs hasn't arrives, so this is a way we can help people with rent and utilities," said Rose.
Yard sale donations are still being accepted.
