(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was cited into court after emergency personnel found marijuana, while treating his head injury.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, 25-year-old Ryan McGaha was cited into court for possession of marijuana under 30 grams.
Police received several 911 calls reporting there was a man laying on the ground and possible gunfire in the area of Fifth Street and Forest Drive.
When police arrived they found McGaha and another man.
"There was no gun fire. The men say they were jumped by two men in a yellow pickup truck," Parsley says. "There were signs of a physical altercation. Both men suffered minor injuries. While Mr. McGaha was being treated at the scene for a head injury, emergency workers found the marijuana."
McGaha was then taken to a local hospital for treatment. The other victim was treated at the scene.
Oolitic Deputy Marshal Bill Allen spotted the yellow pickup just north of Oolitic on Ind. 37.
Allen arrested 27-year-old Joseph Abner and 35-year-old Christopher Abner, both of Bedford, on charges of possession of marijuana under 30 grams. Joseph was also charged will public intoxication.
Allen says Christopher was driving the truck and his brother Joseph was a passenger.
Both subjects were taken into custody without incident.
Parsley says McGaha and the other man, refused to press charges against the Abners and would not tell police if they knew them or how or why the fight happened.
Parsley says the incident is still under investigation.
Officers from the Lawrence County Police Department and the Indiana State Police assisted with the investigation.
