(WASHINGTON) - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that traffic on State Road 257 in Daviess County will be stopped temporarily.
Today traffic will be stopped intermittently where Interstate 69 will intersect S.R. 257, approximately 1mile south of U.S. 50 in Washington. It is anticipated 10 stoppages will take place, none lasting more than 20 minutes between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. local time.
Stopping traffic is required to allow bridge beams to be delivered and set for the new bridge over S.R. 257. All lanes will be stopped in each direction as beams are off-loaded from the trucks and sat on the piers. Local authorities will be on site to aid in traffic control. Inclement weather can postpone the stoppages.
