(ORLEANS) - Two children were injured in a 3-vehicle crash on State Road 37 on the south side of Orleans today at 1:06 p.m.
According to Orleans Police Department Chief Roy McFarland, the crash happened when 60-year-old Jacqueline Rubin, of Louisville, KY, who driving a 2000 Jeep north on State
Road 37 was stopped waiting on the vehicle in front of her to make a left turn. 30-year-old Laura Hamm, of Gosport, was stopped behind Rubin in a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. 43-year-old Kimberly Pendley, of French Lick, who was driving a 2006 Hyundai, saw the stopped vehicle in front of her but was unable to stop before hitting Hamm's car in the rear end. The force of the impact caused Hann's car to hit Rubin's vehicle.
Injured was 7-year-old Max Pendley, of French Lick, who was a passenger in the back seat of the Pendley car. He suffered cuts to his mouth. 7-year-old Lillie Hamm, of Gosport, who was a back seat passenger in Hamm's car, complained of neck pain.
Assisting at the scene were the Orange County Sheriff Department, Orleans Fire Department, and IU Health Paoli ambulance personnel.
