Last updated on Wednesday, May 23, 2012

(BEDFORD) - Two people were injured after their vehicle flipped at the intersection of I and 25th street Saturday.

According to a Bedford Police report, 18-year-old Trisha Keith was traveling east on 25th Street and was coming down the hill when she told police the brakes failed and she couldn't stop at the stop sign.

The 1995 Chevrolet truck she was driving hit a 2001 Jeep driven by 30-year-old Tana Aubery. Aubery was traveling south on I street.

On impact the Jeep flipped onto its top and slid to a stop.

Tana was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be freed by Bedford firefighters. She suffered contusions and bruises.

Her daughter, 12-year-old Caitlyn Ubery, who was a front seat passenger, suffered a laceration to her head. Both were taken to IU Health Hospital and were treated and released.

Police checked the brakes on the truck and found they were functioning after the crash.
