Bedford Man Back In Jail After Stealing From Family Member

Last updated on Friday, June 29, 2012

(BEDFORD) - 38-year-old Joel Corey, of Bedford, is back in jail after Bedford Police officers served a warrant Thursday morning charging him with theft and receiving stolen property and petition to revoke his bond.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley Corey allegedly stole a Fender guitar and Gibson Amplifier from a family member in late May.

"We were able to recover the items at a local pawn shop," Parsley says. "Corey was arrested without incident and taken to the jail where he will remain. He will have no bond because of the other charges."

Bedford Police arrested Corey after they allege he robbed the Walgreens pharmacy of drugs in March. Corey was charged with armed robbery.

According to Parsley, just before 7 p.m. March 6th, Corey walked into Walgreens. He went back to the pharmacy, jumped behind the pharmacy counter, showed a handgun and made off with an undisclosed amount of prescription drugs.
