(PEERLESS) - A Bedford man was injured after a deer ran in front of his motorcycle early this morning.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, Stephen Brooking, 38, of Bedford, was traveling north on Peerless Road and was approaching the intersection of Dive Road when a deer ran from the trees and hit his 2005 AMF FLH Series motorcycle.
The deer then spun around hitting him in the leg and driving his knee into the gas tank injuring his leg and denting the gas tank.
Police say the deer caused extensive damage to the front of the motorcycle.
The animal was killed in the accident.
Brooking suffered pain to his leg and knee.
