(BEDFORD) - 47-year-old Marty Wilson, of Bedford, was injured Wednesday morning after his motorcycle hit a deer and then flipped on top of him.
According to a report at the Lawrence County Police Department, Wilson was traveling north on Ind. 450 about when a deer ran into his path near Carver Lane.
After hitting the deer the motorcycle skidded along the roadway, hit a speed limit sign and then the Honda spun around and landed on top of Wilson.
The report states there were no witnesses to the crash, and Wilson did not remember details of what happened. A passerby stopped and freed Wilson from under the motorcycle.
The deer was killed in the incident.
Wilson, who suffered numerous injuries, was taken by a Rural/Metro ambulance to the helicopter pad at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital and was flown to another hospital.
A crew from the Indian Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
