(BEDFORD) - The quick thinking of a concession stand worker stopped a fire from spreading Monday afternoon.
According to Bedford Fire Department Chief Jon Wagner, the fire was reported at the Otis Park Soccer Field concession stand around 7:38 p.m.
"The fire was out when we arrived," Wagner said. "It was the quick thinking of the employee, who used a dry powder extinguisher on the fire; putting it out."
Wagner says the fire started from a short at the meter box.
"That set off the fuse at the pole which is a good thing," Wagner said. "There was no one injured and Duke came out right away and took care of the electrical problem."
