(SHAKAMAK) - The Metropolitan School District of Shakamak Board of School Trustees and Shakamak Superintendent Mike Mogan welcomed and introduced Jeff Gambill as the new elementary principal last week.
His educational experience began at South Putnam High School where he was an English teacher and coach. Gambill then went to Northview High School in the same teaching positions. In 2010, he became the assistant principal at Northview.
Gambill holds a bachelor's degree in secondary education in English and creative writing and a master's degree in education and administration from Indiana State University.
Mogan noted that there were 24 applications for the position. The number was narrowed to six who were interviewed.
Rolland Abraham, Junior-Senior High School Principal announced that Shakamak received a grant in the amount of $1,000 from Peabody Energy's Bear Run Mine to be placed toward the purchase of new score boards and received $500 toward the purchase of lights for the softball diamond.
