(BLOOMFIELD) - Greene county commissioners awarded the contract for the Scotland sanitary sewer distribution line project to Schecker Construction, of Bloomington, with a bid of $751,712.71.
Nick Schneider of the Greene County Daily World reports that the new treatment plant, that will serve Scotland, WestGate at Crane Technology Park, and areas along Interstate 69, is located on property the county owns along County Road 800 South -- near the Greene-Daviess county line.
A $498,676 CFF grant has been awarded to the Greene County Commissioners/Greene County Redevelopment Commission for use on the $2 million treatment plant and distribution line project.
The new $1.1 million treatment plant is already operational and the distribution lines are expected to be ready to be hooked up to the Greene County Regional Sewer District customers by the end of the year.
