(BEDFORD) - Bedford Revitalization Inc. announces the following list of events for the Limestone Heritage Festival:
Friday, June 29
Noon to midnight - Third annual BBQ at The Quarry on the Lawrence County Courthouse square in downtown Bedford. Proceeds from the event will help to purchase fireworks for the annual Limestone Heritage Festival display. Live music featured at Harp Commons beer garden will be sponsored by Olde Downtown Tavern and will include Grainfed, Sheila Stephen, Blind Rebel and Stone Carnival. Also on the agenda are limestone carving demonstrations, a car show, a poker run and inflatables for children.
5-8 p.m. - Limestone carving demonstration in downtown Bedford. Exhibit and carving contest pieces will be displayed in the meeting room of the Lawrence County Museum on the north side of the Lawrence County Courthouse square. There will be a cash prize of $500 for the open carving division, $250 for the people's choice and $150 for the amateur champion. For more information, call Terry Kirkman at 797-0867.
6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. - Live music at Harp Commons in downtown Bedford
Saturday, June 30
6 a.m. to noon - Masonic Lodge pancake breakfast at the Masonic Temple in downtown Bedford. Bedford Masonic Lodge Pancake breakfast. Building tours offered.
8 a.m. to midnight - BBQ at The Quarry in downtown Bedford (awards 6 p.m.)
8 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Farmer's Market in downtown Bedford
10 am - Limestone carving demonstration in downtown Bedford
11 a.m. - Car show in downtown Bedford (awards at 2 p.m.)
11:30 am to 1:30 p.m. - Poker Run registration and ride; leave from the Bedford Federal Savings Bank parking lot
6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. - Live music
Tuesday, July 3
4-7:30 p.m. - Bedford Rotary Club's annual Dr. Dan Schafer Memorial Fish Fry and silent auction at Thornton Park Pavilion. All-you-can-eat fish and chicken, potato salad, cole slaw and baked beans. Cost is $10 (adults); $6 (children 5-12); free for children under age 5. Proceeds will benefit the club's projects, including sponsoring/hosting foreign exchange students, "I Like Me" books and first-third grade reading programs, safe drinking water and world-wide polio eradication.
Wednesday, July 4
7:30 a.m. - Veterans breakfast at Golden Corral with speaker Jonathan George Brigadier General USAF (Retired)
10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. - Lemonade Day hosted by the Lawrence County 4-H junior leaders in front of the Purdue-Lawrence County Extension Office at 924 16th St. This initial local effort is part of an ongoing national program to teach youth how to start and operate a small business, such as a lemonade stand.
Noon - "Let Freedom Ring" LHF Parade, beginning at 16th and M streets
1:30-4:30 p.m. - LHF old fashioned ice cream social, Thornton Park Pavilion
5:30-6:30 p.m. - Lawrence County Community Band Concert, Thornton Park Pavilion
6:30-7:30 p.m. - LHF concert featuring Ally T., Parkview Field
8-10 p.m. - LHF concert featuring Corey Cox, Parkview Field
10-10:15 p.m. - Pre-fireworks Patriotic Salute, Parkview Field
10:15 p.m. - LHF fireworks show, Parkview Field.
