(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was assaulted after he was asked to buy spice from Low Bob’s on Mitchell Road.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, a man called police reporting a black man approached him in front of Low Bob's and asked to go into the store and purchase the man some spice.
The victim went inside the store and was not able to purchase the item and returned outside.
"That is when the man became angry because the victim could not purchase the item," Parsley says. "The man then repeatedly hit the victim and took the victim's money and fled the scene."
The victim suffered minor injuries.
Police were unable to locate the man.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Bedford Police Department.
