(NASHVILLE) - A Brown County man is facing rape and criminal confinement charges after police said he threatened a woman with a shotgun and sexually assaulted her.
25-year-old Javier Martinez Gomez pointed a shotgun at a 22-year-old woman on June 16. The incident happened inside Gomez's residence in Brown County. During the incident, Gomez told the women that she could not leave or contact anyone, according to a police affidavit.
Gomez accused the victim of cheating on him before he slapped her, pointed the shotgun at her and threatened to kill her if she left him. He also reportedly took her car keys and cell phone.
Later that day, Gomez allegedly began to choke her, and the victim told the Brown County Sheriff's Office she punched Gomez to free herself.
