(DAVIESS COUNTY) - Indiana Conservation Officers investigated an ATV accident which occurred Sunday afternoon in a wooded area underneath the SR 57 bridge along the White River in southern Daviess County.
According to the investigation, at approximately 3:30 p.m., 20-year-old Justin Ray Pride, of Petersburg, was operating a 1992 Honda 250X in a wooded area underneath the Ind. 57 bridge along the White River and tried to climb a steep hill.
The ATV was traveling too slow and stalled at the top of the hill. Pride hit the rear brake of the machine, causing it to flip over on top of him trapping him under the ATV.
Witnesses to the accident pulled the ATV off of pride, and called emergency personnel.
Pride was transported to Daivess County hospital by Southwest Medical where he was treated for chest and back injuries. Pride was later transported to St Mary's Hospital in Evansville for further treatment.
Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted in their investigation and at the scene by the Daviess County Sheriff's Department.
