(BEDFORD) - A motorcycle and a van collided on the northbound side of Ind. 37 at the intersection of Washboard Road Wednesday night, according to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s office.
The van wound up on its roof with one of its tires removed, and the motorcycle, mangled, sat in the middle of the roadway at about 8:30 p.m., causing traffic to be diverted for an extended period of time.
Police confirmed that one motorist had to be airlifted to IU Health Methodist Hospital.
As of 10 p.m., information about the cause of the accident was not available.
