Bloomington police were called to a shooting at College Mall Apartments, on the 2600 block of East Second Street, about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.
No one directly involved in the shooting was at the scene when police arrived.
A witness told police that a man wielding a shotgun walked into the pool area and fired the gun once at 24-year-old Manuel Arteago-Moreno, also striking another man nearby. Arteago-Moreno was hit in the left hand and upper torsal. Both were treated at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Detectives later interviewed Manuel Arteaga-Moreno, 24, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was seeking treatment of wounds to his left hand and upper torso area, according to Parker.
Arteaga-Moreno told police that he and 28-year-old Rigoverto Santos-Lopez had been invited to the pool by his girlfriend. He told police that his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, Nunez came to the pool, armed with a shotgun and fired the gun at him before leaving the area on foot.
Santos-Lopez was also shot in the lower leg. After the shooting the two men left and police found Lopez at his home. Police searched for Nunez but were unable to find him.
