(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Police officers were called to a home in the 1300 block of North Pike Road Sunday after a 17-year-old boy became combative with his parents.
According to Chief Deputy Mike Branham the boy was impaired on a controlled substance.
"At this time we cannot say what the substance was," Branham says. "The teen was out of control and combative when police arrived. He did suffer injuries during the struggle."
The teen had to be restrained by officers and was placed in an IU Health ambulance to be transported to the hospital for treatment.
"Due to his level of impairment, officers had to ride in the ambulance to help restrain him so medical professionals could treat him," Branham says.
No arrests were made and the case is under investigation.
