(CAMPBELLSBURG) - The Washington County Commissioners have again extended a helping hand to Campbellsburg and North Brown Water utilities.
The board has agreed to allow use of county right-of- way so the water corporation can extend water lines along Forest View Road and Saltillo Bono Road.
The commissioners have also agreed to provide $5,000 in EDIT funds to be used as match for a CFF grant to help with costs of the project, which is being implemented in phases.David Elgin, consultant for the town, told the commissioners that easements on private property would be used whenever possible.
But in the event a private property owner refuses, Elgin asked permission to use county right-of-way. He also said a county road will be cut in one place, but repaired.
The intent of the project is to improve service for customers who purchase water from Campbellsburg and North Brown.
In addition to installing new water mains the project includes a new filter system, new chlorine treatment process and new master meters.
