(BLOOMFEILD) - A Switz City woman, convicted in August 2011 for theft, was in court Monday to answer to a petition to revoke her suspended sentence because she allegedly tested positive for marijuana in four recent drug screens.
Nick Schneider of the Greene County Daily World reports that Amy L. Crane, 33, will have an evidentiary hearing in Greene Superior Court at 8:30 a.m. on June 27 to determine if her sentence suspension will be revoked.
At the initial hearing on Monday, Crane was advised of the allegation filed by Greene County Probation Officer Patrick Hillenburg that she tested positive for marijuana in drug screens conducted Feb. 7, March 5, April 2 and May 10 by Redwood Toxicology Laboratory of Santa Rosa, Calif.
She informed the court that she would be hiring her own attorney.
Crane is being held without bond in the county jail.
Crane entered a guilty plea to single count of theft - a class A misdemeanor - on Aug. 17, 2011. She was sentenced to the Greene County Jail for one year with 313 days suspended and placed on probation for one year.
She was ordered to serve 52 days with credit given for 26 days served -- so she did no actual additional jail time after the sentencing hearing.
Two class C felony charges of forgery were dropped as part of her negotiated plea agreement. The theft charge was also downgraded to an A misdemeanor from a class D felony.
Among the terms of her probation was a directive not to use, possess or transport any controlled substance unless it is prescribed by a licensed physician, according to the petition filed by Hillenburg.
