(WASHINGTON) - A Washington Man was arrested after attempting to break into a car Monday night.
At 10:46 p.m. Monday, Laryn Case reported as she was pulling up to her grandmother's house in Washington, she noticed the dome light of her grandmother's car was on and an individual, later identified as nineteen year old Shane Michael Cates of Washington, was attempting to get into the car.
Case said Cates took off running as she drove up. By 11:10 p.m., Washington Police officers had Cates in custody.
He was arrested on charges of public intoxication, illegal consumption of alcohol, possession of a legend drug, and attempted entry to a motor vehicle.
Cates is being held in the Daviess County Security Center. No bond has been set.
