(MITCHELL) - The upcoming Bark for Life will pair dogs and people in the fight against cancer.
Bark for Life is set for Aug. 25 in Spring Mill State Park at the Donaldson Shelter. It is a non-competitive walk.
ACS volunteer Tammy Smith says pets provide much comfort to someone with cancer and the event is away to celebrate victories over cancer, remember loved ones lost and to fight back against the disease.
In addition to the walk, there will be games, contests and lots of fun. In addition to walkers, organizers are seeking sponsors of the Bark for Life. Sponsorship opportunities include Top Dog ($150), Hot Dog ($100) and Puppy Power ($50).
Walk registration begins at 8 a.m. with paw-friendly activities scheduled from 9 to 11a.m.
Registration forms are available online. For more information, contact Tammy Smith, (502) 553-4840, tammysmith7770@yahoo.com or Thom Ulmet (812) 340-2744 or Thomas.ulmet@cancer.org.
