(HAVERHILL, ENGLAND) - Aaron Webb, a 2011 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School and a member of the United States Air Force, was among military personnel who helped escort the torch for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
The Olympics will take place beginning this week in London. Webb escorted the torch as it made its way through Haverhill, England, on July 7.
Webb's parents are Cari Dodds of Bedford and the late Dennis Dodds, and Dennis Webb of Bloomington.
Cari said she learned by talking with Aaron on Facebook that he would be one of the escorts. She also communicated with him after he completed the experience.
"He said all he did was walk with the person (who was carrying the torch) and tried to keep the people off the street. He said that was hard to do," Cari said.
