Bloomfield Woman Arrested For Identity Theft

Last updated on Tuesday, July 3, 2012

(BLOOMFIELD) - A rural Bloomfield woman will be in Greene Circuit Court on Monday for an initial hearing after she allegedly used another person’s identification and bank account to purchase a television online.

Nick Schneider of the Greene County Daily World reports that Kerri Nelson, a.k.a. Kerri Frye, 38, will be charged with identity theft and theft -- both class D felonies.

Nelson was arrested June 26 and is currently free after posting $800 cash bond.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Bloomfield Town Marshal Kenneth Tharp, he was contacted by Sarah Dyer, who told him that someone had used her identity and bank account to purchase a Toshiba 19-inch LED HDTV with a built-in DVD player on an Amazon website.

Cost of the purchase that was made on March 5 by electronic check was $238.36.
Tharp stated that information provided by Amazon showed the television was shipped to Eric Nelson, who lives on Baseline Road near Bloomfield on March 16. The item was purchased/billed to Kerri Frye, who lives on E. Sylvania Road, Bloomfield.

Amazon tracking information showed the purchase paid for by Kerri Frye through a bank account in the name of Sarah Dyer.

Tharp noted in his probable cause affidavit that Kerri Nelson was formerly married to Charles Frye and currently married to Eric Nelson.

Charles Frye is presently dating Sarah Dyer, according to court records.
