(BLOOMINGTON) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will host three public hearings Friday afternoon in Bloomington on permit applications for construction in floodway areas located Greene and Monroe counties involving construction work for Interstate 69.
All three hearings will be at Bloomington City Hall located at 401 N. Morton St. in the council chambers.
A 4 p.m. hearing will address the west bank of Indian Creek in Greene County, downstream of the Carter Road crossing. The permit seeks to re-grade the stream channel and stabilize it with rip-rap.
Indian Creek in Monroe County, northwest of the Graves and Breeden roads intersection, will be the topic of a 5 p.m. hearing. This permit seeks to re-grade the stream channel.
At 6 p.m., a hearing will address Beech Creek in Greene County where it crosses State Road 43. The permit seeks to re-grade the stream and stabilize it with rip-rap and excavate four drainage channels in the floodplain area.
