(ORLEANS) - The first of three county-wide signs has been installed in the Historic Orleans CongressSquare.
Visit French Lick West Baden's goal is to target guests who are visiting the destination and provide them with a map to aid in navigation and a source of information for the community they are in; including key attractions, dining and lodging opportunities as well as key shopping options within each town.
Visitors can utilize the sign to determine where a particular place of interest is located and quite possibly discover features they were not aware of, prompting them to explore the county, encouraging extended stays and return visits.
"The signs provide a great tool for visitors in our communities. Not only do they serve as a way-finding tool, but will also enlighten those reading the sign of new and different places they might not have been aware of as well as scheduled events and festivals," Visit French Lick West Baden Executive Director, Misty Weisensteiner stated. "The signage will also lead viewers to the CVB website, which houses a comprehensive destination wide database for those who need or would like more in-depth information."
"We are very proud to serve as Orange County's 'Front Porch' and invite everyone to come, visit and sit awhile," Orleans Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Robert Henderson stated. "This new signage will be very helpful to our many visitor friends and in highlighting the number of special events we host annually in Historic Congress Square."
Two additional signs will be installed in the near future. The Paoli Community Park will house a ground mount sign similar to that in Orleans and the third is a wall mount to be installed in French Lick.
