(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County 4-H Fair opens this weekend and it will honor people who have been instrumental in making the annual event happen.
The Lawrence County 4-H Fair Board will honor living and deceased agriculture/natural resources educators during a reception Saturday in the Expo Hall at the Lawrence County 4-H Fairgrounds. The reception is scheduled for 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The event also calls attention to the ways the educators have been involved in the community and in projects that have been beneficial to Lawrence County citizens.
During the event, the educators or a family member will have the opportunity to make remarks. Those in the audience also will have a chance to share remembrances.
The fair board has provided the following list of agriculture educators, dating back to 1916: Charles J. Jones, James Kline, C.V. Watson, H.D. Jackson, H.J. Yarling, John F. Armstrong, Edward A. Ragsdale, Albert P. Zukunft , Bob Sampson, trainee, and Alan Goecker, intern, Dave Snider, Mike Bauer, Ervin G. Otte and David Redman.
