(FREETOWN) - Local author Lori Roberts will be the special guest at the Pershing Township Lions Club meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Freetown Community Center.
Roberts will be speaking about her new book, "Lost Letters." The book is a historical romance in which the main character inherits a plantation from an unknown great aunt.
As she explores her inheritance, she encounters the ghost of a Civil War soldier, finds a packet of lost letters and takes a trip back in time to help solve a mystery.
Roberts and her husband, Doug, live in the Pleasant Grove area near Brownstown, and she teaches U.S. History at Shawswick Middle School.
The public is invited to attend.
Books will be available for purchase and anyone who already has a book may bring it for the author's signature.
