(BROWNSTOWN) - Two Brownstown men face felony charges in connection with the robbery and beating of a Seymour man Sunday.
Aubrey Woods of the Tribune reports that Jackson County Sheriff's Department Detective Rick Blaker Jr. said the incident that led to the arrest of Paul Ponders, 22, and Nicholas Davers, 24, was reportÂed at 6:45 p.m. Sunday in the 2900 block of North County Road 500 West.
That's when a man, who is an acquaintance of Ponders and Davers, reported the two beat him, put a gun to his head and took his money.
The 23-year-old Seymour man, who police said declined to be taken to the hospital by ambulance, told investigators he gave one of the suspects a ride to a residence where the incident happened, Blaker said Monday afternoon.
"He said they jumped him when he arrived there," Blaker said.
Both Ponders and Davers were arrested by county police shortly after the incident, Blaker said.
Davers and Ponders face Class B felony charges of robbery and criminal confinement as well as a charge of batÂtery and intimidation.
Ponders and Davers were being held on $ 50,005 bond Monday afternoon at the jail in Brownstown.
Blaker was assisted by county Detective Rob Henley, county reserve officers Greg Murphy and Steve Murphy and Brownstown Officer John Reichenbacker.
