(SALEM) - A one-vehicle crash on Ind. 60 near in Washington County Saturday claimed the life of Thomas “Tommy” Greene Sparkman, 35, Salem.
A news release from the Washington County Sheriff's Department reports the accident occurred at 3:12 a.m.
Sparkman was eastbound on Ind. 60 nearing the intersection with Dog Trot Road. For an unknown reason, his 1996 Chevrolet Camaro went off the road on the right side. The car went into a ditch and rolled several times, ejecting Sparkman from the vehicle.
Sparkman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation. Police believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
Funeral services for Sparkman are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Weathers Funeral Home in Salem.
