(BEDFORD) - Three people were killed on Bailey Scales Road late Saturday night.
According to a Bedford Police reports they are still determining who was driving the 1979 Jeep that is registered to James Drake, of Terre Haute.
Dead are 30-year-old Morgan Hutton, of Riley Boulevard, 38-year-old Laura Duncan, of Smith Road, in Mitchell and 33-year-old Dasan Spires, of Ind. 58 East, in Heltonville.
According to the police report, they received a 911 call from Kyle Hutton at 11:10 p.m., who was at his home on Riley Boulevard. Hutton told police there was an accident on Bailey Scales Road, just north of Riley Boulevard, with people unresponsive.
When police arrived at Kyle's home he was taken to IU Bedford Hospital and then flown by helicopter to Methodist Hospital. Kyle suffered pain to his entire body.
According to the police report the driver of the Jeep was traveling south on Bailey Scales Road and went off the side of the road and hit a utility pole. All four of the occupants were ejected from the Jeep.
Spires body was found next to the Jeep in the roadway. The other two, Morgan Hutton was found next to the roadway in the grass and Duncan's body was found in a wooded area.
The accident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Chief Deputy Mike Branham of the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, who is reconstructing the accident scene or the Bedford Police Department.
Police did request a blood sample from Kyle Hutton to determine if he was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Those test results are pending.
