(BEDFORD) - Two Soused Pigs, captained by Wade Blackwell, claimed the grand champion award Saturday night at the third annual BBQ at the Quarry in downtown Bedford.
Greg Lane of Huey's BBQ, grand champion the first two years, chose to serve as an official vendor for this year's fest and did not compete in the cook-off.
Dustin Parker's United Pork Smokers was runner-up in the overall competition, and Adam's Backyard BBQ, led by Adam Thomas, was third.
11 teams competed in four separate categories Saturday.
United Pork Smokers was first in the chicken division, followed by Two Soused Pigs and Adam's Backyard.
Two Soused Pigs secured the top spot in pulled pork, with United Pork Smokers second and Adam's Backyard third.
In Da Pig, a team spearheaded by Jeff Yarnell, prevailed in the ribs category. Adam's Backyard was second and United Pork Smokers third.
Dustin Wessell's Pit Stop won the brisket division, followed by Two Soused Pigs and Arnold Madden's Pop's Belly BBQ.
Event organizer Ryan Griffith says Jeff Carson of Carson's BBQ in Ellettsville was named winner of the Jim Seib Award for character and competitive spirit.
