(BEDFORD) - 32-year-old Barry Scott Ryan II, of Bedford was arrested early Sunday morning when police were looking for a stolen vehicle.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, when police approached Ryan to question him, he ran from the scene.
"When police apprehended Mr. Ryan they asked him why he ran and he said it was because he thought there was a warrant out for his arrest," Parsley said. "That is when police discovered Mr. Ryan was in possession of marijuana."
There was no outstanding warrant, but Ryan was arrested and taken to the Lawrence County Jail and charged with possession of marijuana under 30 grams.
