(BLOOMINGTON) - 25-year-old Urapreciseangle Williams, of Bloomington, faces a preliminary charge of domestic aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly attacking her boyfriend with a box cutter.
Her boyfriend 23-year-old Breon Nichols was charged domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of a crime.
According to Bloomington Police Department Sgt. John Kovach, Williams was arguing with her boyfriend 23-year-old Breon Nichols. When Officers arrived at the Southern Winds Inn Apartments on South Walnut Street they found Williams and Nichols, there t witnesses told police that Williams had hit Nichols several time in the head.
According to Kovach, Nichols had taken Williams phone when she attempted to call police and disposed of it. That is when Williams allegedly went back into the apartment and came out with a box cutter and started after Nichols, allegedly swinging the knife as Nichols was walking away from the apartment.
Nichols raised his arm to defend himself and that is when Williams allegedly cut his right forearm with the box cutter.
Williams told police that Nichols had hit her during the argument. Police did see bruises where Williams allegedly was hit.
Police also recovered the box knife speckled with what appeared to be blood
Kovach says Nichols denied the attack with the box cutter and says he was cut while trying to get the phone from Williams. Williams also denied cutting Nichols.
Nichols had to have stitches to close the wound.
