(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police were called to an all-out brawl in a parking lot in the 400 block of North Walnut Street - six people were arrested.
At least four Bloomington police cars and three officers went to the parking lot around 2:55 a.m., and were greeted by a mob who were surrounding two men fighting.
BPD Detective Sgt. John Kovach says the large group were watching 25-year-old Christopher Hamilton punching 34-year-old Gary Lee in the face.
Officers attempted to restrain and detain Hamilton, and that is when Officer J'an Guess says Hamilton began swinging on officers.
Officer Guess was able to get Hamilton down on the concrete. As an unsuspecting Hamilton laid face-down. Lee came up from behind and allegedly "stomped" his head into the concrete.
Guess reported hearing sounds consistent with "teeth crunching" as Hamilton's face pummeled into the cement..
Four men, ranging from 24 to 31 years of age, were arrested during the scuffle and on charges of disorderly conduct.
Hamilton was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement. Lee was arrested and charged with aggravated battery.
