(BEDFORD) - Centerstone has launched a new online addiction treatment program in Lawrence County designed to serve residents in more rural areas of southern Indiana who may not have easy access to the resources and support they need to achieve recovery.
The program, called e-ROSC, is completely virtual and an online extension of Centerstone's Recovery Engagement Centers which currently operate in Richmond and Bloomington.
Tools such as online support groups, blogs and one-on-one "talk to me now" live chat features make it easy for e-ROSC participants to connect with their counselors and peers 24/7, and virtually track their recovery progress all in a safe, secure online environment.
The virtual addiction portal was made possible by a three-year, $840,000 grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The program will also service qualified residents in Brown, Morgan, Monroe and Owen counties.
"Only one in 10 individuals who needs substance abuse treatment today is receiving it," said Linda Grove-Paul, director of Addiction and Forensic Services at Centerstone. "This is particularly true in rural communities where addiction recovery services simply are not available in many cases. Centerstone is on a constant search to make sure that anyone seeking recovery has access to the services and support they need. By bringing these substance abuse services online, we are able to engage more people in more communities, encouraging recovery around the clock."
Centerstone is a nonprofit organization providing a wide range of mental health and addiction services.
The new e-ROSC web portal, which is hosted at www.V-Recover.com, serves as a virtual extension of Centerstone's Recovery Engagement Centers, which have successfully used a proactive community approach to help more than 2,000 individuals find addiction recovery support since 2010. Services are tailored to each participant's specific needs and an assigned Recovery Coach acts as a mentor to ensure that each person's recovery is successful and sustainable.
