(BEDFORD) - All non-elected Bedford city workers will be granted a 2 percent raise beginning in January.
Bob Bridge of the Times-Mail reports that the city council voted 6-0 in a special session Tuesday night to give workers their second pay hike in five years.
Workers received a 2 percent hike in 2011. Mayor Shawna Girgis and other elected officials will not see a raise in 2013.
The council also approved the promotions of Kyle Brown from employee relations and community director to director of operations and Mel Rile from building/fire inspector to assistant planning commissioner/building inspector.
